Description of intervention(s) / exposure
Physiotherapy assessment of patients involving standard musculoskeletal assessment of patients. This involves performing a general history of presenting complaint with the patient and physical assessment of the injured body part including active, passive, resisted movements, ligament and muscle tests and mobility assessment.

Physiotherapy management will involve the treatment deemed appropriate to the patient by the assessing physiotherapist. This may include provision of mobiilty aids, education, plastering and splinting, provision of home exercises and referral for further services.

The patient will be seen on one occasion only over the 6 month period. The duration of assessment and management is expected to vary depending upon the condition presenting and will range from 30 minutes to 2 hours

Historical data collected on patients seen prior to inception of physiotherapy emergency service over the period of July 1 to Nov 30th 2007. This data will be taken from medical records of pateints who were seen by physiotherapy over this period.
