Description of intervention(s) / exposure
Participants will receive auditory and visual stimuli of 10 seconds during four moments delivered by a rheatre nurse: before anesthetic induction, during anesthetic induction, during surgical incision, and upon awakening. During the four moments, the electroencegalographic signals will be recorded with 16-channel surface EEG located in a 10/20 system. Auditory stimuli of 20 db and light stimuli of 50 cd/m2 will be performed for each ear and for each eye, respectively.

Summary
Brief summary
We hypothesize that it is possible to characterize the different states of consciousness during general anesthesia with sevoflurane in children less than 4 months after surgery through electroencephalographic analysis of functional brain connectivity. A convenience sample will be taken between September 2023 and October 24 of children under 4 months of age undergoing surgical procedures under general anesthesia with Sevoflurane at the Red Cross Children's Hospital in Manizales who meet the inclusion criteria. A Cadwell Easy III brand 16-channel EEG will be used, which will be located according to the 10/20 system. EEG records will be taken at 4 times: before induction, during anesthetic induction, during surgery, and upon awakening. The data will be processed minimally, following the convention for pediatric data with EEGLAB from MATLAB and analyzed to characterize functional brain connectivity at each of the 4 moments
