Description of intervention(s) / exposure
1. Verifying the incidence and the type of stroke in neurological patients in to the Hospital Governor Celso Ramos of Florianópolis;
2. Measure the existence of signs after a stroke and wich they are;
3. Identify if there was pratice of physiotherapy and for how long;
4. How long the patients stay in to the hospital, and verifying if there was a second patology, and the influence of the physiotherapy and if the physiotherapy accelarate or not the period of internment.
The period of internment of this patients it was from 01/07/2004 to 01/07/2005. The observation was make between 20/02/2006 and 20/07/2006 beside medical archives service of the hospital.

There was a high incidence of stroke in the neurological patients in to the Hospital Governor Celso Ramos that was 50% of the total of neurological practices.

There was great variation in the periods of internments, where the most patients stayed in to the hospital for 6 to 10 days. The period of internment reduce when the physiotherapy came.
